How our Glass is Made

The art of glass blowing today is similar to the ancient techniques used in the 17th century.
Furnace
The glass blowing process begins with an artist gathering molten glass from a fiery furnace.
The artist blows the glass to a desired size and shape.
   Furnace
He uses a variety of tools to shape the glass.
Furnace
The artist can then add additional colors and designs while re-heating the glass.
Furnace
The glass is then placed in a cooling oven for several hours.  To prevent the glass from cracking, it must cool very slowly and gradually.

Each piece is then inspected for quality in design, clarity, and dimension. Once the piece is approved, it is carefully polished and ready for packaging.
